Dr. Hongxing Chen, Associate Professor, Master Supervisor. He graduated from Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was a academic visiting scholar at Duke University. His research field is aquatic ecotoxicology, mainly focusing on the accumulation of chemicals and environmental pollutants in aquatic organisms, food chain transfer, and ecological toxicity and risk assessment of pollutants on aquatic organisms at different biological levels. Combining the methods of biochemistry, molecular biology, omics, histopathology and population dynamics, the ecotoxicological effects and internal molecular mechanisms of inorganic pollutants in water were systematically discussed from the microscopic gene and protein levels to the macroscopic population and ecological levels.
His main research interests include: 1. Accumulation, distribution, biotransformation, metabolism and transfer of inorganic pollutants in aquatic organisms in the aquatic food chain and food web, as well as the migration and transformation of pollutants from aquatic environment to terrestrial environment; 2. The influence and internal mechanism of different exposure paths of pollutants from dissolved, dietary, parental transfer and intergenerational transfer on their absorption, accumulation and transformation in aquatic organisms; 3. Specific toxicity test screening and risk assessment of pollutants on different target organs of aquatic organisms, and comprehensive toxicity effect analysis and mechanism discussion of pollutants on aquatic food chain.
In recent years, he has presided over the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, the Guangdong Natural Science Foundation Project, the Young Innovative Talents Project of ordinary universities in Guangdong Province, the Basic and Applied Basic Research Project of Guangzhou, and the Research and Cultivation Fund for young teachers of South China Normal University, etc. Participated in key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Plan, and projects of the "Hundred People Plan" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has published more than 60 academic papers In Environmental Science & Technology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Environmental International, Science of The Total Environment Aquatic Toxicology, Chemosphere and other journals. also 1 patent. Meanwhile, he served as a reviewer for several internationally renowned journals in the field of ecological and environmental risk assessment.
